After graduating from university together, classmates and designers Yeji Kim and Eunjin Shin launched their Seoul-based brand YLYL. The Nonna Ring, with its oval Formica cabochon on a six-prong setting, is reminiscent of something you might find in your grandma’s jewelry box and want to wear today. The soft colors and gently curved design of this lightweight piece reference classic Korean ceramics and the hanbok, traditional attire typically worn on ceremonial occasions.
